Choose a publicly-traded brand and another retailer and create a collaborative launch plan including plans for merchandising, creative marketing, and scaling up.
Casetify collaborates with Tuscan fashion house, Emilio Pucci, to create a custom line of Pucci-inspired phone cases. The purpose of this collaboration is to connect Emilio Pucci with the more mainstream Gen Z market and to provide Casetify with a connection to the high fashion industry. The line will consist of five digitally rendered Pucci-inspired prints, available in four case formats for twenty-one different devices. The price range will be between $29-$50. The line will be created in themes appropriate for the Gen Z market, focusing on colors and themes consumers contribute to designers. Sales will take place on the Casetify website and from the Casetify Instagram page.
the inspiration
My inspiration came from the Resort 2021 Collection and the Pokémon x Casetify line. I used the Resort Collection for the aesthetic of the collaboration and the Pokémon collection as inspiration for the product line and price point.
the marketing
A campaign where users contribute to the design will be run on Twitter
Instagram will be used for the Casetify company to post photos and promote the new launch
TikTok will also be used as a way for influencers to market the product line
the product assortment
The assortment will be available in five prints and twenty-one device options. Case type options include the Snap case, Classic Grip case, Impact case, and Ultra Impact Case. The price range of the cases varies based on the protection it offers, giving consumers the option to choose a style between $29-$50.
plans to scale
Casetify will either add more products to the line or collaborate directly with Pucci to create a new line together. Casetify also has cases for AirPods and AppleWatch bands that could be tailored into the collaboration. This collaboration allows for Casetify to continue operating to serve its three pillars of growth: community, collaboration, and customization.
